What are cookies?

Procedure to oppose to the installation of cookies

Most computers are initially set to accept cookies automatically. However, the user has the ability to decide whether the cookies should be accepted or not. The fact of disabling the cookies may imply the loss of an optimal function of the platform, as some of the characteristics or services provided may be disabled.

However, even if all of the cookies are disabled, the browser will record specific information, which is essential for the basic working of the platform. To disable the cookies, go to the “preferences” section of your internet browser.

Depending on the browser, you will have to follow certain steps to change the configuration in your computer:

  • – Google Chrome: Open the browser, click on “Tools” in the upper section and choose the tab “Options”. In “Options”, click on “Privacy”. Check “Allow cookie administration”
  • – Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0: Open the browser, click on “Tools” in the upper section and choose the tab “Options”. Check the “Privacy” tab and make sure that it is configured with a medium or low security level. If the internet configuration is not medium, the cookies are being blocked
  • Mozilla Firefox: Open the browser, click on “Tools” in the upper section and choose the tab “Options”. Choose the Privacy icon. Click on cookies and check: “allow the installation of cookies”
  • -Safari: Open the browser, click on “Tools” in the upper section and choose the tab “Options”. Click on the “Security” tab and check if the option “Block the access of third-party cookies” is marked or not. Click on “Save”
  • Cookie installation in Mac: If you have a Mac computer and you want to allow the access of our cookies to your computer, please follow these instructions:
    • – Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 in OSX: 1. Open “Explorer” and choose “Preferences” in the navigation bar 2. Scroll down until you find “Cookies” below the received files 3. Check “Do not ask again”
    • Safari in OSX: 1. Open “Safari” and choose “Preferences” in the navigation bar 2. Click on the “Security” tab and check the option “Accept cookies” 3. Choose the option: “Only from the current site”
    • – Mozilla and Netscape in OSX: 1. Open “Mozilla” or “Netscape” and check the option “Preferences” in the upper part 2. Scroll down until you find “Cookies” below “Privacy and Security” 3. Check the option “Allow cookies only from the current site”
    • – Opera: 1. Open “Opera” and choose “Menu” and “Settings” in the navigation bar 2. Choose “Preferences” and click on the “Advanced” tab 3. Check the option “Accept cookies”.
